5 REASONS WHY YOUR SKIN IS ALWAYS DRY - Jurlique US

5 REASONS WHY YOUR SKIN IS ALWAYS DRY

You might be wondering, “Why is my skin so dry even when I moisturise?” Our answer to that is sometimes keeping moisture in the skin isn’t as easy as it sounds. You could be doing all the right steps and still experience skin dryness, flakiness and discomfort. In this case, it’s a good idea to take a closer look at what might actually be causing your skin to be dehydrated. Once you’ve figured out the underlying cause, it’s a lot easier to find a solution. From environmental aggressors to gaps in your skin care routine, read our guide to 5 common causes of dry skin.1. DehydrationHydrated skin starts from the inside out. If your skin is showing signs of dryness or dehydration, start by looking into your diet. You may not be drinking enough water – aim to drink at least 2L a day. You can also replenish your hydration levels by eating foods with a high-water content, like watermelon, strawberries, celery and iceberg lettuce which contains over ninety percent of water.2. Cold weatherNotice that when it’s winter, your skin becomes more prone to dryness? This is because when the weather gets cooler, lower temperatures coupled with high winds strip your skin of moisture and leave it feeling tight and dry. Keep your skin moisturised with a thicker product to create a protective barrier over the skin. A rich moisturising cream like our Moisture Plus Rare Rose Cream is clinically proven to deliver 24h hydration and is made with Jurlique Rose Extract and Cupuaçu Butter to deeply nourish and restore much-needed moisture.3. Dry airAnother environmental aggressor you need to look out for is dry air. You’re more likely to experience dry air in warmer climates and in spaces with air conditioning. Dry air strips your skin of moisture at a faster rate than normal. To combat this, keep the surface of your skin supple by using a hydrating mist. Our Rosewater Balancing Mist instantly hydrates, refreshes the skin and supports moisture balance. Keep a bottle by your desk or in your bag to easily spritz your skin whenever it’s feeling parched.4. Unbalanced skin pHOur skin’s ability to ward off the effects of environmental stressors is determined by something called a pH level. How acidic or alkaline your skin is can drastically affect your hydration levels. If you’re experiencing dryness, chances are your skin has high pH and is too alkaline – you need to balance out your pH levels, so your skin is able to protect itself more effectively. There are many causes of alkalinity, but common causes include over exfoliating and overuse of masks. So, try and reduce exfoliating to once a week or two.5. Harsh ChemicalsNot all skin care products are created equally. Products that use synthetic ingredients can be harsh on the skin and strip away your skin’s natural oils. Take a closer look at your skin care ritual and get rid of the products that deplete your skin of moisture. A good way to figure this out is seeing if your skin feels tight or dry after use. We recommend using our Replenishing Cleansing Lotion to cleanse your skin morning and evening. Formulated with Marshmallow Root and Calendula Extracts, it calms and conditions dry skin while replenishing and protecting it. Follow up with Activating Water Essence after cleansing and before your serum/moisturiser step to activate your skin’s ability to retain moisture and also help the moisturising products you use afterwards to sink in.

THE ROLE OF BEES ON OUR FARM, AND WHY THEY MATTER - Jurlique US

THE ROLE OF BEES ON OUR FARM, AND WHY THEY MATTER

At Jurlique, the power of Nature is at the heart of everything we do. The clean air and soil of the Adelaide Hills is what brought our co-founders, Jurgen and Ulrike Klein, to South Australia and why they chose it as the birthplace of Jurlique. We believe the rich biodynamic* soil on our biodynamic* farm enables our plants to be the most powerful and potent they can be, and that we can capture that life force in our exclusive Bio-Intrinsic method. 0:28 We believe by following biodynamic* farming techniques, we’re harnessing all the positive, living energies from Nature, as well as farming in the most sustainable way possible. Biodynamics* is an all-encompassing approach to farming and uses the sun, moon, stars and planets of Earth to bring about balance and healing, treating the farm as a living organism – one that’s self-contained and self-sustainable. Organic farming is defined by its use of organic fertilisers. Biodynamic* also adheres to these principles but while organic permits imported fertilisers, biodynamic* requires that a farm produce its own fertility as much as possible through the rotation of crops, with no outside inputs. There’s a lot that goes on at our farm but one of the most important roles is that of the bees in our beehives. Bees are essential in pollinating and propagating the plants and flowers. It’s their round-the-clock toil that promotes floral growth and sustains the vast volumes of concentrated botanicals on our farm. Pam Cherry, our Herb Farm Coordinator who has worked at the Jurlique Farm since 2005, says: “The bees send out scouts every morning and find what’s flowering. And they do wiggly dances and they’ll wiggle in the direction that everyone’s got to fly to. All the workers will then know where to fly to and they’ll all forage around. Some things have a lot of nectar, some have pollen, some have both. They’re amazing, the amount of work that they do. “Being a no-waste and biodynamic* farm means we are responsible for caring for the whole farm as a unit. Each part we care for – be it the soil, water or bees – is creating a healthy vitality. The end result flows through to our products,” explains Pamela. According to a report compiled by Greenpeace, bees are paramount for ensuring sustainable crop production. Bees don’t just help us with our crops either – by following biodynamic* farming practices, we’re promoting biodiversity and safeguarding bees. The report cites scientific studies that have shown that chemical-intensive industrial agriculture is implicated in the decline of bees and pollination, with fertilisers, herbicides and insecticides having a negative impact on bee health. To find out more about the sustainable practices on our Jurlique Farm, read our Sustainability Report *Certified biodynamic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia. Jurlique’s products and farm are not certified or affiliated with Demeter® USA or Demeter International.

THE 4 BENEFITS OF PEACH LEAF EXTRACT FOR SKIN

At Jurlique, we’ve been using powerful botanical extracts in our skin care products since 1985, choosing them for their natural, skin benefitting properties. One such ingredient is Prunus persica, or Peach Leaf extract; an ingredient that may not be headline-grabbing like many others in skin care, but one that is important for helping to protect the skin from environmental aggressors, as well as improving the skin’s vitality and radiance of the skin. Here are four benefits of Peach Leaf extract and how you can add it to your skin care ritual. What is Peach Leaf extract?Peach Leaf extract is often listed or known as Prunus persica, which is the Latin name for ‘peach’. WHERE HEALTHY SKIN MEETS A HAPPY MIND WITH JULIA BUSUTTIL NISHIMURA - Jurlique US

WHERE HEALTHY SKIN MEETS A HAPPY MIND WITH JULIA BUSUTTIL NISHIMURA

As pioneers in wellbeing, at Jurlique we’ve always believed that the healing and uplifting powers of Nature have a great part to play. The self-care phenomenon is more than a trend and here to stay so there’s never been a better time to get to know yourself and body more. For cookbook author & food writer, Julia Busuttil Nishimura, our Softening Shower Gel Rose and Softening Body Lotion Rose is her go-to for a botanicals rich, replenishing ritual that nourishes the body and mind. Being a busy mother of two, finding a few mindful moments in the day for herself is a necessity. We had a chat with Julia and spoke about how she cultivates small rituals throughout her busy day to keep her rejuvenated and relaxed. What does your body skin care ritual consist of? I have a very simple skincare routine. Usually, shower gel in the shower and I exfoliate once or twice a week, then moisturiser every day. It’s not much but it feels nice to do those things for myself. I make sure I shut the bathroom door so I can have some time to myself undisturbed, that feels really important to me. What's your connection between body skin care and self-care? I don’t have many minutes to myself in a day, with a newborn and a pre-schooler, often taking care of myself is the last thing I have time to do. However, just carving out a little time in the day to attend to my own needs is really important. When my skin feels good, I feel really comfortable and confident and happy that I’ve invested a little time for myself. Do you have a body skin care step that you swear by? Once a month I try and set aside an extended time for myself to create my own “spa day”. I light candles, diffuse some essential oils, listen to music, put on a face mask and take a bath. While it’s important for me to keep up my daily skin care, this monthly ritual is so rejuvenating and restorative and really tops me up. It’s something that I make sure I do regularly. Do you have any body skin care tips for new mums? We spend so much time in bed in the early days. Whether trying to feed or sleep it feels like our bed is our second home. I like to keep my body skin care products on my bedside table for easy access and a strong reminder to use them. Try and set aside time for yourself, even just a few minutes a day will feel wonderful. How do you fit in Jurlique Body Care products into your body skin care ritual? I only use shower gels and moisturisers that don’t contain any harsh chemicals as I find they strip my skin from their natural oils. That’s why I love using Jurlique products. I especially love the scent which feels very luxurious and calming in the shower. Shop Julia’s cookbook Ostro on her website Unearth a natural remedy for every body. Our aromatic selection of Shower Gels and Body Lotions are enriched with the restorative powers of Nature.

THE BENEFITS OF AROMATHERAPY - Jurlique US

THE BENEFITS OF AROMATHERAPY

Aromatherapy has been at the heart of Jurlique from the very beginning. Since 1985, our founders Ulrike and Jurgen Klein sought to unlock the healing and transformative powers of Nature to cultivate radiant, healthy looking skin by “understanding the importance of the soul of the plant which is essential oil”, and we’ve been keeping that commitment to purity 35 years on. What is aromatherapy? Simply put, aromatherapy is the therapeutic and healing use of natural aromatic substances such as herbs, spices, plants and essential oils to strengthen one’s physical and psychological wellbeing or in other words, mind, body and soul. Dating back as far as 5000 years ago, we can find the use of aromatics in ancient Ayurveda medicinal practices, ancient Egyptian skin care rituals and ancient Roman celebrations and ceremonies. While aromatics have been used for medicinal purpose for thousands of years, it was only until the late 1920s when the term ‘aromatherapy’ was coined by French chemist, René-Maurice Gattefossé. He had accidentally burnt his hand and as a reaction doused his hand into a nearby vat of Lavender oil – the burn healed quickly and left no scar, compelling him to study aromatics. Benefits of Aromatherapy for Mind Although inhalation of essential oils isn’t the only way to use aromatherapy, it is one of the most common forms, especially when comes to positively affecting the mind. Our ability to smell comes from specialised sensory cells that are directly connected to the brain. This is why certain smells trigger certain feelings. One smell might trigger a memory, another might trigger a feeling of calmness, one smell might even trigger hunger. So, when it comes to essential oils, they have the power to relax, energise and stimulate the mind through their scents/aroma. Lavender Essential Oil One of the most popular aromatherapy oils, Lavender, has a calming effect when used in aromatherapy. Its key benefits are to calm and relax the mind and senses. Add a few drops of Lavender Pure Essential Oil to a diffuser or vaporiser to soothe the mind and promote sleep. If you’re on the go, our Lavender Hydrating Mist will do the trick. A few spritzes and the calming scent will instantly soothe your mind. Lemon Essential Oil Lemon Oil has the power to re-energise and enliven the mind. Our Revitalising Blend Essential Oil features the pure natural essential oils of Lemon, Orange and Bergamot for a revitalising effect on the senses and promotes a sense of alertness. Adding it to your diffuser or oil burner will create a restorative environment for your mind. Pro tip: If you don’t have an oil burner, diffuser or vaporiser handy you can dot essential oils onto your pulse points or add to a warm bath of water to ease tension. But remember to never apply the essential oils to your skin directly. Due to their potency, it can cause significant skin irritation – instead dilute with a carrier like Jojoba Carrier Oil, then apply. Benefits of Aromatherapy for Skin Care In addition to the mood-boosting benefits of essential oils in aromatherapy, they’re also rich with natural antioxidants and antimicrobial properties that enhance and protect your skin. With their ability to soothe, hydrate, restore and improve radiance for an overall enhancement in skin wellness and glow - at Jurlique we make sure get every bit of into our skin care products. By using our exclusive Bio-Intrinsic™ process, we ensure the whole life of the plant is being used, to deliver an undiluted force of Nature to your skin. Rose Extract There are so many reasons why you should use rose-infused skin care products. Rose, known as the ‘Queen of Flowers’ and rightfully so, is packed with loads of skin-loving goodness. Its hydrating properties improve skin barrier function and help to retain essential moisture levels for smooth and radiant looking skin. You get the best of both with Rose as it is both beneficial for your skin and known to have a positive effect on your mood. A key part of any aromatherapy practice, the delicate scent of Rose defuses stress and calms. Start your day with our powerfully nourishing Softening Shower Gel Rose and Softening Body Lotion Rose to provide nurturing comfort, hydration and protection for your body. Peppermint Leaf Extract Peppermint is known for its refreshing aroma. Grown, harvested and extracted at our biodynamic* Jurlique Farm, pure Peppermint Leaf Extract helps soothe and protect the skin. Dotted in many of our products, the use of the extract in our Revitalising Cleansing Gel helps to restore and revitalise dull skin and improve uneven texture for younger-looking skin. Calendula Flower Extract Derived from the bright yellow and orange flowers of the Calendula flower, it has pronounced soothing properties and is used to rebalance sensitivity on the skin and throughout the body. Our Calendula Redness Rescue Soothing Moisturising Cream is sensitive skin’s best friend. Its rich texture hydrates, comforts and protects delicate skin. Combined with the key ingredient of Calendula Flower Extract, its antioxidants promise intense soothing properties. You’ll also find Calendula in almost all of our products, keeping your skin forever soothed and calm. Aromatherapy’s positive benefit on your overall wellbeing proves it’s something you want to keep in your self-care and skin care arsenal. Explore our Aromatherapy Oil range and learn more about the powerful ingredients we use in our products, grown on our biodynamic* Jurlique Farm in South Australia. *Certified biodynamic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia. YOUR 6 MOST COMMON SKIN CARE QUESTIONS, ANSWERED - Jurlique US

YOUR 6 MOST COMMON SKIN CARE QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Skin care can sometimes be…confusing. With the rise of beauty blogs, influencers and online media, finding information about what skin care products to use, when to use them and how to use them, is easier than ever before. But notice how that advice can be conflicting (not to mention overwhelming?) Sometimes you need input from the pros, so we enlisted our Education Team and asked them to answer some of your most common skin care questions on everything from skin concerns to how use to a certain product. When should I use a hydrating mist? Our signature face Mists can be used as part of your skin care ritual, after cleansing. A few spritzes of mist helps close the pores, refresh skin and prime your face for the next step in your ritual, while delivering nutrients and moisture to the top layers of the skin. They can also be used throughout the day, whenever you need a hit of fresh, lightweight moisture. Take them on the go and give yourself a spritz whenever you’re in need of freshening up, or some extra hydration. Read our guide to face Mists to find out more. What’s the difference between an eye gel and an eye cream? The biggest difference between using an eye gel or eye cream is texture and choosing which one you go for comes down to personal preference and skin type. An eye gel, such as our Herbal Recovery Signature Eye Gel, is typically transparent and lighter and thinner than an eye cream, which means it’s absorbed into the skin more quickly. Eye creams tend to be thicker and richer and are better suited to those with drier skin types. How can I reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines?Ageing is inevitable in all of us and can be most noticeable in our skin. Prevention is always better than cure: always wear a sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher and start incorporating anti-ageing products into your skin care ritual as soon as possible. If you’re noticing the early signs of ageing, use a targeted serum such as our Herbal Recovery Signature Serum which helps soften the appearance of fine lines, followed by Herbal Recovery Signature Moisturising Cream. For more advanced signs of ageing, our Nutri-Define range has a powerful formula that helps improve the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles to improve skin for a firmer, more resilient complexion. How can I erase dark spots and scars from old blemishes? The best way you can reduce the appearance of dark spots and marks from blemishes is through regular exfoliation. Exfoliating the skin promotes cell and collagen renewal which in turn can fade the appearance of any spots and scars. Use Daily Exfoliating Cream twice a week and follow with your usual skin care ritual. How can I correct uneven skin tone?Brightening skin care products, like those in our Purely White Skin Brightening range, can reduce the appearance of dark spots and improve skin texture to create a more even skin tone. For best results, use a cleanser with a gentle exfoliant to refine surface texture and follow with a brightening mist. What is Marshmallow Root and how does it work?Marshmallow Root is the root of the Marshmallow plant, or to give its botanical name, Althaea officinalis. The root has been used to treat wounds and nourish skin for centuries. Mucilage, a syrup-like liquid found in the root, attracts and retains moisture and provides a barrier that prevents this moisture from escaping. It’s this quality that makes it the ideal active ingredient in a number of intensely hydrating Jurlique products – in fact, it’s the hero ingredient in our essential skin care product, Activating Water Essence.

THE TRUTH ABOUT WATER IN SKIN CARE PRODUCTS - Jurlique US

THE TRUTH ABOUT WATER IN SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Water in skin care products…how effective can it really be? You might get a few sceptical looks when using water-based skin care products, or maybe you’re sceptical yourself. Surely water dilutes the active ingredients, making them less effective? If you’ve ever looked at the ingredients list of our natural-based skin care products, you’ve probably noticed that ‘water’ is included in most of them – and that our Mists and Activating Water Essence are both water-based. And it’s with good reason. Water actually enhances the active ingredients in skin care products, making them even more effective. Here’s everything you need to know about water-based skin care, and how to incorporate it into your skin care ritual. What is water-based skin care? Water-based skin care is any product – cleanser, moisturiser, essence, serum or mist – that uses water as its base ingredient, rather than oil. What are the benefits of water-based skin care?1. They’re deeply hydrating. Skin absorbs water faster than it does oil. Products with a water base can penetrate skin more deeply than those that are oil-based and do so without disrupting the skin’s natural moisture barrier. Our bodies are about 60% water, so by adding more water into our rituals, we’re helping to hydrate our skin and maintain optimal cellular functioning.2. They’re suitable for most skin types. Depending on what other ingredients are included in the formula, water-based products can be used on most skin types. Our Mists and Activating Water Essence have gentle formulas, which means they can be used on dry, oily and combination skin without causing irritation.3. They’re non-comedogenic. Most water-based products are lightweight so won’t clog your pores or cause breakouts. When should I apply water-based products? The general rule of thumb for applying skin care products is to go from thinnest to thickest, so water-based products should be used towards the beginning or your ritual. After cleansing, spritz two-three pumps of Mist onto your face, followed by pressing two-three drops of Activating Water Essence onto your face, neck and décolletage before applying your serum, eye care and moisturiser.Add high-performing water to your skin care ritual with Activating Water Essence and find out more with our guide to face essences.

5 UNEXPECTED WAYS TO USE FACE MISTS - Jurlique US

5 UNEXPECTED WAYS TO USE FACE MISTS

At Jurlique, we love a good face mist. Our Rosewater Balancing Mist, packed with the extract of our exclusive Jurlique Rose, has been one of our most popular products for years, and our range of mists has gained a loyal following of beauty enthusiasts the world over. As the post-cleanse step, our face mists are known for their hydrating and soothing properties and are a skin care ritual essential. But did you know that our Mists do more than hydrate the skin and can also be used throughout the day, outside of your skin care ritual? Read on for five unexpected ways to use a facial mist.Refreshing makeupYes, our Mists can be used over your makeup without smudging it or causing it to run. If your foundation and concealer tend to look dry or flaky towards the end of the day, or you want a dewy look, spritz a hydrating Mist onto your face throughout the day. By giving your skin this moisture boost, you’ll prevent it (and your makeup) from drying out, helping to keep it looking fresh for as long as you need it to.Enhancing makeup pigmentsSpeaking of makeup, lightly spraying your makeup brushes and sponges with your favourite facial spray can help deepen the pigments of products such as eyeshadow, blush and highlighting powders. This technique helps to enhance the drama and vibrancy of your look and can reduce the amount of product you need to use.Cooling the skinDuring summer on hot, humid days, or winter, if you’re exposed to a lot of central heating, our skin can sometimes feel like it needs a bit of cooling down. Use your face mist throughout the day to refresh and cool it. It will help soothe your skin upon contact and have a fresh, cooling effect as it evaporates.Reducing rednessSome of our Mists are targeted to specific skin concerns. Our Calendula Redness Rescue Calming Mist is specially formulated with soothing ingredients that target skin sensitivity and dehydration. Enriched with Calendula, Chamomile and Aloe Vera Leaf extracts, our Calendula Redness Rescue Calming Mist soothes dry skin, and helps to restore softness, hydration and calm red skin on the face.Controlling shineA face mist might not be the first product you think of when you want to control shine. But oiliness and shine can be byproducts of your skin overcompensating for dehydration by producing excess oil. Hydrating facial mists can help regulate oil production, as they prevent moisture loss and support the skin’s natural protective moisture barrier. If you have oily or blemish-prone skin, applying a face mist can help balance the skin and keep excess shine at bay.

WHY YOU SHOULD DOUBLE CLEANSE YOUR SKIN - Jurlique US

WHY YOU SHOULD DOUBLE CLEANSE YOUR SKIN

In recent times, many beauty publications have touted double cleansing as a major breakthrough in skin care. If you’re thinking about jumping on the double cleansing bandwagon, wondering how double cleansing differs from regular cleansing or what the real skin benefits are, you’ve come to the right place. Read on to discover the answer to your questions and more. What is double cleansing?Double cleansing, like many of our now ingrained skin care methods, originated in South Korea and Japan. Essentially, double cleansing is cleansing your skin twice. A technique that involves using two different types of cleansers after one another to deeply remove all traces of makeup, sunscreen, sweat and other surface debris from your face. What are the benefits of double cleansing?1. While cleansing your skin twice doesn’t sound like the kind of party your skin wants to attend because of the “stripping” nature of cleansing, double cleansing really gets to work and ensures that you remove every last bit of surface debris, dead skin cells and impurities that can cause skin break outs, inflammation and irritation.2. Using two different types of products to double cleanse (we’ll hash this out in a moment) means that you’re not only removing surface build-up and gunk, but you’re also getting deep down into your pores to remove pollutants – making your cleansing ritual far more effective.3. If you wear makeup daily, then this one’s for you. Double cleansing helps break down your makeup so that you’re not scrubbing at your skin or using an excess of harsh makeup wipes. There’s no more dreading removing your makeup after a long day.4. As a result of effectively cleaning your pores, another benefit is an overall more radiant, less congested, even skin tone. Clarified pores = healthier looking skin.Double cleansing methodHere’s the fun part. In order to double cleanse, all you need is: an oil cleanser, a muslin cloth or face towel, and a cream, lotion, gel or foam cleanser that suits your skin type. Once you’ve got all your tools, follow the steps below:1. Massage 2-3 pumps of your oil cleanser (we recommend our Nourishing Cleansing Oil) onto dry skin including the eye area using circular motions.2. Next you can either wet your muslin cloth, face cloth or face towel with warm water, wring out the excess water and then place the cloth onto your face gently to swipe away the product. Or as you add warm water to the Nourishing Cleansing Oil once applied - on contact with water - the oil transforms into a rich cleansing milk that hydrates and softens the skin as it removes makeup including waterproof mascara, excess oil, pollution and impurities.3. After rinsing/swiping away the emulsified oil, it’s time to cleanse with your regular cream, lotion, gel or foam cleanser and rinse off as normal.Choosing a second cleanserAs always, be sure to choose a cleanser that suits your skin type. Keep in mind with double cleansing, your regular cleansing product isn’t doing all the work alone. Gentle cleansing products will suffice and reduce any unnecessary stripping of your skin. Here are our recommendations:Dry skin:If you have dry and sensitive skin, go for our Replenishing Cleansing Lotion. It calms and conditions the skin. Featuring Marshmallow Root and Calendula Extracts, your skin will be clean and soothed.Mature skin:Go for an anti-ageing cleanser like our Nutri-Define Supreme Cleansing Foam for mature skin. With its rich and luxurious texture, it’ll be a treat for your skin after your oil cleanser step as jojoba beads gently exfoliate to reveal a youthfully luminous complexion.Blemish prone skin:Blemish prone skin is also usually associated with oily skin. So, you want something that balances the skin. Our Revitalising Cleansing Gel is perfect as its key ingredients of Peppermint Leaf Extract and Rosemary Leaf Extract soothe the skin while rebalancing oiliness.Combination skin:Combination skin needs to be simultaneously hydrated and balanced. Our Radiant Skin Foaming Cleanser is perfect for all skin types and is the go-to for combination skin. A powerful blend of antioxidant-rich botanicals leaves skin thoroughly cleansed and protected, but not dry or tight.Frequently Asked QuestionsDo I need to double cleanse in the morning?Yes! You might think your skin is clean enough from the night before, but your skin still produces grime and sweat while you sleep. By double cleansing, you’re creating a clean slate for your morning skin care and/or makeup routine. Will double cleansing make my skin oiler? No. While oil cleansers are made from oils, they don’t necessarily add more oil to your face. The purpose of oil cleanser is to lift away skin surface debris – this includes excess oil. This means your skin balances out and the production of oil and on your skin rebalances itself. Also, if you follow up with your regular cleanser, the oil cleaner washes away and doesn’t remain on your skin. Can I use coconut oil or olive as an oil cleanser? It would be great to cost-wise. However, coconut oil and olive oil are comedogenic. Meaning they clog your pores instead of cleaning them. Unlike our Nourishing Cleansing Oil which emulsifies, other oils don’t combine with water so they end up sitting on top of your skin. Cleansing oils are specifically designed to cleanse your skin, so it’s safer to steer clear of coconut and olive oil to cleanse.Double cleansing is a relatively straight forward skin care technique that really gives you noticeable results and improves the effectiveness of the products in your skin care ritual. Shop our botanical enriched, natural cleansers online now to try this technique for yourself. Image credit: @the.life.of.laura
