Discover our range of conscious gift sets & relaxing skincare rituals
The holiday season is often considered a time of relaxation, merry-making and family when in reality it can be quite stressful—cooking up a storm, attending and hosting holiday parties, travelling locally and abroad. Not to mention all the shopping.
In an effort to create a ‘slower’ festive season, we have thought up a few ways to become more mindful and present, while also considering the planet over the coming weeks.
Make time for yourself
With so much preparation, organization, and endless socializing, it is often a challenge to grab a moment for yourself. The risk of burnout is high, with a holiday needed after the festive season, only to recover. Although it may be a challenge, try to prioritize yourself by not saying yes to every Christmas party and delegating tasks to friends and family members where possible. If you can’t indulge in a day of relaxation, try to capture a moment of daily self-care, whether lighting a candle, taking a long hot bath, or indulging in a nourishing skincare ritual.
Make Connections
It’s sometimes easy to get caught up in the chaos, which is why it is important to remember that this season is all about connection. It’s a time to reconnect with family and friends, create memories and become more present in the moment. This season isn’t the easiest for some, so take the opportunity to connect with the community and reach out to those in need.
While connecting to loved ones is important, don’t forget that this is a chance for you to disconnect from work, turn off your phone, slow down and reconnect with nature.
Become a Conscious Shopper
With so many presents going unused and winding up in landfills, one of the easiest ways to gift sustainably is to ensure you are buying something that your loved one really wants, needs, and intends to use.
In being a bit more mindful this season, you may also want to consider the resources that went into the product and if the gift is something that will last. Are the ingredients or parts sustainably sourced? Is the packaging recyclable? What are the delivery methods?
You may also want to consider supporting companies and brands that are ethically and environmentally responsible. Look out for conscious companies doing their part to give back to nature, and when selecting products, keep an eye out for eco-friendly certifications.
